How to share a PDF as a link

  1. Step 1

    Drop in your PDF

Drag a PDF onto the box above, or click to choose one. No account and no email address needed.

  2. Step 2

    Get your link

In a few seconds the PDF becomes a page-turning reader with its own link. Copy it, or scan the QR code on your phone.

  3. Step 3

    Share it anywhere

Paste it into an email, a message, a social post or a website. It opens in any browser, with nothing to download.

Why send a link instead of the file

  • No size limits to hit. A link is a line of text, so it never bounces for being too big to attach.
  • It opens on a phone. The reader loads page by page in the browser, so there is no download and no PDF app needed.
  • You can change it later. In an account, upload a new version and everyone with the link sees it, without resending anything.

Other ways to get a link for a PDF, such as Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive, and the catch with each, are covered in our guide: How to share a PDF as a link.

FAQ

How do I turn a PDF into a link?+

Upload the PDF with the tool on this page and you get a link straight away, with no account. Anyone you send it to opens the PDF in their browser as a page-turning reader, on a phone or a computer, without downloading anything.

Is this PDF to link converter free?+

Yes. Making a link without an account is free. So is a free Living Page account, which keeps your links live and holds up to 3 documents.

How long does the link last?+

A link made without an account lasts 24 hours, and then the file is deleted. To keep the document, create a free account from the result screen before it expires. It moves into your account in full, and when you publish it you get a permanent link to share instead.

What are the limits without an account?+

PDF files up to 10 MB, and the first 10 pages are shown. With a free account the whole document is published, with no page limit.

Can I update the PDF later without changing the link?+

Yes, once it is in your account. Upload a new version of the document and the link, any QR code and any embed all stay the same.

Can I share a Word or PowerPoint file as a link?+

The no-account tool takes PDFs. In an account, paid plans also accept Word, PowerPoint and EPUB files. On any plan, you can save your file as a PDF first and upload that.

Can I password-protect the link or see who opened it?+

In an account, yes. Every account shows how many times a document has been viewed. Paid plans add a password or email gate, and higher plans add detailed reading analytics, such as how far each reader got.

Keep your links live, and see who reads them.

A free Living Page account keeps every link working, lets you replace the PDF without changing the link, and counts the views. Add your branding and reading analytics when you need them.
